COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification is aimed towards learners who have an interest in developing their skills and knowledge in the field of Horticulture so they can advance to higher levels of study or into employment, while gaining their NCEA Level 2. The programme provides an insight into a range of Horticulture practices, health and safety practices, employment skills, and self-management, while building learner confidence in an inclusive and well supported environment.
CERTIFICATION
New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industries Level 2.

This qualification includes 2 days of theory and 3 days of practical per week.
WHO CAN ENROL?
This qualification is for youth 16-24 years of age, who already hold a Level 1 qualification or adults over 25 years of age. Only a limited number of individuals can join if they already possess a Level 2 qualification.
Applicants must also be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
This is a full-time 20-week programme. Part-time options available.

- Monday – Thursday between the hours of 9:00am – 2:30pm
- Friday between the hours of 09:00am – 12:30pm
ARE THERE ANY COSTS?
This programme is fees free – we’ll also provide free breakfast each day.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
On the completion of this programme graduates can choose to continue studying at a higher level at an external organisation. The skills gained in this qualification will be invaluable in a variety of fields including Horticulture.
