COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification is aimed at learners who have an interest in working in the retail industry. The units of study will provide you with the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in communications, literacy, numeracy, and customer service. It includes both theory and practical elements with some units being delivered in a classroom setting and some through the completion of work experience in a retail environment.

WHO CAN ENROL?
This is a youth qualification designed for all learners who do not already hold a level 2 qualification. You should hold 40+ level 1 credits on the NZQF or have prior experience in a retail environment. There are a limited number of adult places available at our Waipukurau campus.
Applicants must also be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

You can study at the following training centres.
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
This is a full time 26 week programme.
Monday – Thursday between the hours of 9:00am – 2:30pm
Friday between the hours of 09:00am – 12:30pm
ARE THERE ANY COSTS?
This programme is fees free – we’ll also provide free breakfast each day.
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
On the completion of this qualification, graduates will have the necessary skills to gain front-line employment in a variety of retail outlets or continue their studies towards the New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 3) at an external organisation.
