All was quiet at our Capital Training centres as the staff headed off for a noho at Tapu Te Ranga Marae in Island Bay. An amazing 24 hours, where we extended our knowledge of place based education (how to incorporate local places and legends into our teachings and bringing the world into the classroom to make it relatable for our students to enhance their learning), Tikanga ā-iwi (cultural practice, social science, tribal custom), Te Reo Maori ā-iwi (language specific to tribal areas) and Pōwhiri involvement (traditional Māori welcome). Ka mau te wehi!
