Lisa came to Capital Training with a wealth of experience in education and the aquatic industry; both here and in the UK. She has worked with all ages and abilities and creates a quality environment which her students can thrive in. For many years Lisa taught phonics which has a fundamental approach to the teaching of reading. During her time at primary school level, phonics instruction had to be meaningful, lively, and engaging; using a variety of teaching styles. Lisa has a tremendous passion for coaching and looks forward to building confidence and teaching the students practical life skills; whilst keeping them fully engaged within education.
In her leisure time, Lisa likes to spend time reading, finding new recipes and cooking tasty meals, and working outdoors in the garden and growing vegetables. Living in New Zealand, she has become a huge fan of the Hobbit; read the books and she’s visited the set as well. Art has always played an important role in her life and she could probably open up her own gallery; she has got that many pictures on her walls. Recently, she bought her own sewing machine and she is passionate about learning to sew.
