Hey I’m Julia started at Capital Training initially as a learner in 2013 and gained NCBAC2 here. In 2014 I was lucky enough to get the role as Learner Support in the Upper Hutt Centre and carried on my studies to then gain NCBAC3. In holding down work and being a parent to my daughter I then had the opportunity to get my National Cert in Adult Education and Training in 2016. I joined the Health and Safety project team in 2016 too, that is an important part to our centre and knowing that we are all safe in any situation. I had always enjoyed working with children and youth, from leaving school at 16 with absolutely no qualifications to become a nanny for 6 years then going on to become a lifeguard, swim teacher and a leader for a holiday programme. This role is much more rewarding though, watching our learners grow and to continue to learn myself. I am now covering maternity leave and am in the role of WPL Coordinator which has been a great challenge.
In my spare time I like spending time with my daughter, watching movies, cooking, baking and socialising.
